Bengaluru :Garden city to Traffic city

The title of Bengaluru should be changed from Garden city to Traffic city.The way traffic congestions are increasing and way it is managed,its very unfortunate and it is in a bad state of affairs.IT city which has large amount of companies into IT domain has exponentially grown but the way it is managed and maintained is not good

1.Narrower roads:-All the major points/junctions have narrower roads which leads to congestion in traffic and ultimately increases the travel time. Roads are so small and narrow that if bus comes near the stop then whole traffic comes to standstill. There are no 4 way lanes roads present in entire Bengaluru except in Electronic city which increases the traffic time. There are no enough underpasses, flyovers present in Bengaluru to cater to the increasing needs of traffic. Roads are narrower and congested and in some cases some part of road is not available as it is used for building metro.


2.Metro:-Talking about metro the rate in which metro is progressing will take ages to complete. The deadlines were missed 9 times for just completing the phase 1.Phase 2 construction is in progress and looking at the history I am sure that the phase 2 will also be not completed in stipulated time. Estimated expected completion of phase 2 metro where major residential and office localities like Silk board,KR Puram will be on 2023 which is too far .By that time city would have grown to such an extent that newer metro lines will be needed to inorder to  cater the increasing demands of city


3.Local transport:-There is no doubt the rate in which Bengaluru is witnessing growth .It will be next Mumbai ,Delhi and will be one of the  busiest city in India .Comparing to Mumbai which has a strong local trains which almost travel to nook and corner of city.Comparing the Mumbai local trains to Bengaluru ,I do not feel that there are enough local trains for daily commutters.People rely upon BMTC buses for transport from one end to other end and narrower and small roads contribute to a longer travel time with a high travel fee.Normally all the buses during peak hours will be jam packed  leaving no room for commuter for easy and safe travel.looking at the traffic congestion and situation,its high time that Govt should strengthen railway network ,introduce local trains in order to avoid .Secondly more Ring roads,flyovers,bridge,elevated bridges should be built in order to cater to needs of city.Thirdly newly constructed roads should have separate lanes for BMTC buses and emergency services like ambulances,police vans etc.

Most of Bengaluru crowd is migrated crowd .Most people are from AP,Telangana ,Odisha and West Bengal .Bengaluru which is called a Garden city will soon may get a new tag name as Traffic city.Its high time we raise the voice in loudest extent inorder to wake up the sleeping government
