Raid:Content and Hard Hitting movie


As we all know audiences have rejected big budget movies with big stars,sleazy item numbers and rauchy music but a weak script.Now a days content is the king.Gone are the days when people use to go theatres because of khans and superstars. This week’s release  “Raid” of Ajay Devgnn starrer is purely content based movie .Content plays a pivotal role in today’s success of film .

The movie starts directly into the plot with a engaging story line and gripping.The movie from the beginning is able to create lot of suspense and engrave the audiences.Coming to the strong points of the movie



1.The ensemble cast:-Raid starring Ajay Devgn,illena , Saurabh Shukla and amalgamation of various theatre actors fit it to the role superbly. The chemistry between “Baadshaho pair” is very little and its namesake for the movie.Illena role is very small and to be frank enough there was no heroine in the movie.Singham lead actor fits perfectly into the role of perfect government servant who is supremely honest and very determined in following and exercising rules.Saurabh Shukla essaying the role of ‘Rameswar singh’ who is corrupted politician and his accent of Hindi is amazing and makes character watchable.

2.Script and Story line:-Inspired from true story ;The director Raj Kumar Gupta  makes the movie really  entertaining and the way screenplay and story unfolds is really amazing .Audience gets hooked and stay in edge of seats .Director has done marvellous job in building climax and keep the audience guessing till the last moment. Now a day’s content speaks lot about success and Raid is purely about that.

3.Duration of movie:-Unlike other traditional bollywood movies where there is mixture of romance, action comedy included in the plot whether it is necessary or not. Director has taken utmost care in not including many songs and keeping romance as meagre as possible. The comedy part is taken care by Tauji(Saurabh Shukla) mother.The movie is sharp 120 mins where content and story is in such a fast pace the audiences do not need a pinch of any other elements in the movie

4.Ajay Devgn’s acting:-Ajay acting is to the point and justifies the character to the full extent.It’s one of his best  performances on screen. His role actually reminded me of Gangajaal’s character.The confidence and honesty in which he essays the role is impeccable and mind boggling.I am not scared to say that no other actor would have best fit in the role .It’s actually stunning that variations and different kinds of movies he is able to do like Shivaay,Golmaal and now Raid.

The weakpoints in the movie are its dialogues where the whole movie is being shot in a house.There are some sequences in the movie between Taauji and Amay Patnaik where they could have been powerful dialogues written and would have given more weightage to the character.However there are some really impact full dialogues present but  they are very little in the whole movie.Secondly,Role of Ileana seems to be trimmed a lot or I would say it was not required for any heroine. Since Raid being inspiration from real life story I felt better characterization of heroine should have been inorder to justify the character

Overall ‘Raid’ is must watch for movie buffs.It is movie worth spending money and it also gives a message that ‘Honesty is the best policy’.So Raid is honest attempt  of showcasing Honest government servant performing his duties at any cost not compromising on rules.
