Spot fixing :A blind spot for Gentleman’s Game

When God created Money and asked what you will do.It said I will increase greed of humans,it said it will spoil the relationship of husband and wife,it will kill one human being,it will create disturbances between 2 brothers and 2 good friends and also make Nation’s pride into Nation’s shame.Latest spot fixing scandal actually proves the above statement.These players actually played with emotions of millions of Indian cricket fans.India actually worships Cricket as a religion rather than a sport.This is shame to IPL.

IPL since its inception is hugely successful but no short of controversies.There are so many celebrities involved in IPL plus you have money,glamour,cheer girls etc.All these influences a cricket player or aspirant cricket player to involve himself in spot fixing . Spot fixing has salvage the reputation of the sport we love.All of talking about it but let us findout solutions to curb spot fixing

 

1.BCCI one of the most influential,rich cricket board in the whole world is not all transparent.BCCI adminstrartors claims that they are transparent but its hard to believe that we have a board president who has  conflicting interest in other franchisees.His son in law is suspected to involved in spot fixing. Very few people know how our board operates ,what is modus operandi etc.So first step should be make the cricket board transparent.

 

2.Serious,heinous punishment should be given to the cricketers who are found guilty in match fixing,spot fixing.Mainly Match fixing law should be made which should be elaborate on levels of punishment to be given for spot fixing or any other form of cricket corruption in any domestic,international or IPL match.It’s stunning that sreesanth,chandila and ankeet even after found guilty have been granted bail and allowed to walk free.These people should not be allowed to enter into cricket field in the rest of life.They should understand the mistake that they have committed .Its very irritating that sreesanth and ankeet come out in media and say that “They will come out clean from this mess”.

 

3.Proper grooming should be given to the grass root players.Players who come from village does not have a knowledge about the darkside of cricket.Gentleman’s game has darkside  which is betting,gambling,spot fixing and match fixing.BCCI should ensure that proper grooming ,counselling to these cricketers about match fixing,spot fixing and also consequences involved if you indulge in the offence.Yes I agree it will not solve the probiem but it will create awareness and reduce the problem.

 

4.Catch hold of bookies,gamblers and find out modus operandi ,find out how they are able to have access to players,,how they negotiated with them.This will help in understanding bookies,gamblers as a whole and in turn help in busting out mafia hideouts.

 

Well I think these are some steps which would reduce the spot fixing but it is upon individual or a sportsperson if he wants to indulge in corruption then you can put as many steps as possible but it will not help.The above mentioned steps will help in finding blindspot present in gentleman’s game.
