Yes customer is the king now.Modern days the profit equation is changed.Now organizations are inverting the pyramid & trying to be more customer friendly.Previously, products were manufactured & delivered to customer.Now customer needs are identified & accordingly to that products are manufactured.There are several examples in this since liberalization of economy in 1991,India has experienced a exponential growth with growth in per capita income,investment through FDI.Examples are:-

Mcdonalds when it entered India did a thorough research & understood the needs of indian consumers.It matched Indian needs in terms of delivery,taste & also price.Asian paints which is industry leader in paints has a concept called ” choose your colour” where customers can choose their colors from website .This was unique & was able to touch emotions of people. Banks in India have a concept called KYC (Know your customer) where the banker should understand the needs of customer and give whatever required. Domino’s pizza competitor of pizza hut differentiates itself by its 30 mins or free delivery. Concepts like these have shaken industry .Muthoot finance concept of 3mins loan where the loan is processed in 3 mins has made industry to rethink their strategy which is one of the biggest in india.Dell concept of holding inventory for just 7 days ,build to order, & personalized systems have really distinquished dell and stamped authority in Industry.Consider the e-commerce websites where a customer can visit website 24/7 & book the ticekts .The waiting time is abolished.Customer convenience is given a priority.There are so many ecommerce offerings in modern days virtually anything one can order and it will be delivered at their doorstep.USP is 24/7 customer service,free shipping cost,payment on delivery etc.Examples are Amazon,Flipkart,First cry etc.Ecommerce websites have really answered to the question that customer is the king.As time goes there will be more ecommerce offerings as each and every company is trying to be Brick & Mortar company.
